Summer came to Sydney early with the Myer Spring 2005 fashion parade. Myer have gone to the expense to convert the concrete jungle of Sydney's Martin Place into a giant beach arena with sand and water taken over the main forecourt of Martin Place. Starring in the fashion parade is Australian supermodel Alyssa Sutherland.
The lunch time parade featured a sporty casual feel with long flowing dresses, city shorts and of course swimwear. The night time parade however, featured a more glamorous ensemble of fashion with little black dresses, business suits and of course, again swimwear.

I have to say, the opening of the night time parade was brilliantly conceived. It’s 6:00pm at Martin Place, relatively pitch dark, when all of a sudden the spot lights power on and music blaring. Everyone was anticipating the entrance of the first group of models from the main entrance (funny that), when 6 male model emerges from the pool at the other end of the catwalk dripping in water with only jeans on.
It definitely got the attention of the crowd (some 16,000 people viewed the 4 parades held on the day), and the parade build on from there until the closing where all the models in the parade (there seems to be thousands of them – ok maybe 60 or so) slowly emerged and all took a collective pose in front of the crowd before they leisurely wander off again happy with a good nights work to end the parade.
We, at overEXposed are happy to be there to cover this Myer fashion event, and hopefully we will be able to cover more future Myer events as they happen.
