The Green Day American Idiot world tour wraps up in Australia with their second last show in Sydney at the SCG. Green Day clearly firmed up their international superstar status with over 50,000 tickets sold in the first 2 hours.

"We save the best for last!" said Billie Joe Armstrong (lead singer/guitarist) at a recent press conference.

Green Day clearly have a love for Australia with their last tour to our shores was only a mere 9 months ago. It's been a long and crazy year for Green Day and they find it fitting to end the international tour back in Australia.

The Green Day fans were certainly not disappointed. With a packed crowd in the "idiot zone" (the front section of the stadium), the atmosphere was buzzing and it escalated a few extra levels when Green Day ran onto the stage. The Green Day live shows are always extravagant events and this one is no exceptions. Pyrotechnics and fireworks are used throughout the show with great effect.

Supporting Green Day were 2 great acts that both had successes on thier own. My Chemical Romance kicked off he night followed by Jimmy Eat World.
