Rob Thomas must be bored, bored of being so successful with everything he does. After selling a truckload (probably a tiny bit more than that - more like over 10 million) of CDs with Matchbox Twenty and being named the Best New Band by Rolling Stone magazine. Rob then decided to tried his luck with collaborating with guitar legend Santana to produce and release "Smooth", this collaboration led to Thomas winning 3 Grammys (Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals).
So, where to next. Of course, a solo career. With the release of Something To Be in 2005, Thomas have really now done everything. To top off all of his achievement so far, the Something To Be World tour must be something he does in his spare time but more importantly a gift to all his (and Matchbox Twenty) fans around the world.
Thomas opened the concert with the lead track and single from his solo album "Something To Be" to satisfy the fans packed into the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Thomas's fans were then taken on a ride through the long list hit songs from his current album and the repertoire from Matchbox 20. The concert would not be complete without a rendition of "Smooth", which Thomas obliged to his thousand of screaming and singing fans.
